La bottiglia è quasi meglio del traguardo. La fatica è tutta sulle spalle, e quel gesto semplice d'allungare il braccio è vissuto come una pena da sopportare. L'acqua è fresca e non ha importanza chi sarà a passarla. Un volto qualunque, che non si riesce neppure a scorgere. E' una benedizione. Sulla salita atroce verso Montecampione, in maglia tricolore, Gianni Faresin afferra la tanto agognata bottiglia. Metà contenuto viene inghiottito, il resto versato sul capo, in uno dei gesti più comuni, e più affascinanti del ciclismo. Da sempre.
The bottle is better than the line. Shoulders are painful for an hard day on the bike and it's even hard to keep the water. But it's fresh and no matter who's going to pass it. No face, just confusion; it's a miracle anyway. On the hard slopes to Montecampione the Italian Champion Faresin keep the bottle, drinks half and half drops on the head. And that act, it's one of the most beautiful you can witness on the roadside.
