La giornata del Petrano si chiude con la lunga coda del gruppo che fatica verso la cima. L'Olandase Ten Dam è distrutto dalla fatica, dopo aver lavorato tutto il giorno per la maglia rosa. Procede come un automa, con la maglia aperta e le mani ben strette al manubrio. E' vuoto nel corpo e nello sguardo. Nel gruppo degli ultimi c'è chi soffre e chi si nasconde: in pochi parlano e qualcuno si può anche pemettere di scherzare. La luce è già quella d'una calda serata d'estate. Questa durissima giornata di ciclismo è terminata. Adesso vien voglia di ricominciare daccapo.

 

The warm evening closes the day on the Petrano. Ten Dam is proceeding to the top, as many other in the group, empty of any streght. He supported the rosa jersey the whole day and now tries to find the enegy to reach the finish line. The day is over now and was great to chase such race and watch in live all those hidden stories. The hills are now becoming quite after a long summer day; the grain is growin and turns to its gold colour. The strong noise of the Giro carovane is now far away, while I drive back home. And the only think I have now, is to start again with another memory.
