| Danilo Di Luca and Denis Menchov - Giro d'Italia 2009 |
This was the name of the last climb of the Queen stage of the most eccentric Giro edition ever. The Giro 2009 was finishing in Roma and the last week of race took place in center Italy, on Appennines instead of Alpine pass.
However, despite the fact that nobody was really knowing well the climbs, the race was great. Menchov and Di Luca were, more than one time, side to side, alone, facing each other to win the rosa jersey that, at the end, went to the Russian. I shot this picture on the road to Monte Petrano, an unknown road in Marche region; that day the stage climbed other two big mountains: Monte Nerone and Monte Catria. If you don't know yet these names you should consider to have a watch and a try. You won't claim they don't deserve a visit.
