Speciale Mondiali 2008 - Assenti – Ma che ne era degli Schleck?

Avevano persino mandato in fuga uno dei loro. La presenza di un Lussemburghese nella fuga mattutina lasciava presagire un'altra bella prova di uno dei due fratelli Schleck. Semmai il dubbio era rivolto a chi dei due avrebbe corso da protagonista. Invece ne l’uno ne l’altro si sono mai prodotti in alcun attacco ne azione degna di nota. Una giornata storta forse propiziata dalla turbolenta vigilia fatta di perquisizioni e sospetti. Il percorso non era adatto agli Schleck ma i due hanno già saputo lasciare il segno anche in corse apparentemente poco adatte. E francamente i loro attacchi mi sono mancati.

There was one of their team mates in the early breakaway. I thought he was there to prepare the race for one of the Schleck guys. Who was going to make the race between Andy and Frank. Nobody, at the end. No an attack, not any action. A wrong day, probably due to the difficult eve. The route was to easy for them, but they both demonstrated that they can leave their sign also in races far from their characteristics. To be honest, I miss them.
